What’s Growing?

  • More Date Changes!

    Hi Garden Club Members,

Our visit to Harry’s Garden yesterday [June 10] was lovely, it was quite impressive! There was a lot of “eye candy” and it was truly amazing how he incorporated different areas of the yard into multiple gardens. There was a koi pond, a mini-waterfall-creek, a shaded area for plants and of course, lots of different roses and more. Harry provided an informative talk, as well.

Below, please glance at the remaining 2025 calendar year of events. There has been a change in July. We were not able to reserve the church on what would have been the 2nd Tuesday of July, so it was moved to July 15th, meeting at the church. Also, our Field Trip was moved to the last Tuesday of July, the 29thSo, mark your calendars accordingly.

    Things of note:

    1. If you have NOT paid your dues for 2025, please mail your check or bring it to the next Coffee Chat/Meeting.
    2. Paradise Acres Garden Center, on Hwy. 212 in Damascus has annuals & veggie starts at 50% off, while supplies last.

WORKDAY JUNE 12 – Sara Hite Rose Garden

    Screenshot

    Good Morning Dear Gardeners!

Our wonderful friend, Harry Landers, is looking for help tomorrow morning, from 10 am – noon at the Sara Hite Memorial Rose Garden. Many of us just visited Harry’s amazing home garden yesterday, when he generously shared so many wonderful stories with us about his experiences and how he developed his lovely garden oasis.

Harry now manages the Sara Hite Memorial Rose Garden and would sincerely appreciate any help we can offer in helping to deadhead the roses in this gorgeous garden.  Please join us for whatever time you can spare… it goes so much faster, and is a lot more fun, when we are all working together!

The address is 5440 SE Kellogg Creek Dr. in Milwaukie.  When you first drive into the parking lot, you can go straight, left, or right… turn into the left parking lot and you will see the Rose Garden on the left.

Bring your gloves, a pruner, and a bucket. Perhaps a hat!  You don’t need to know “how” to prune roses… Harry will explain!

Hope to see you there!   Wendy

If you’d like to note something about the image, please include that, along with the name you’d like me to use to give you credit for your work.

For the time being, the images I’m adding are from Sandy Platz (meetings, events and coffee chats) and from my albums.
