Inspiration from Mike Burmester:
“…. the huge painting… was of a single snowflake, glittering in perfection. A moment before it began to melt.
The tragedy wasn’t its disappearance. The gift was that it existed at all.
What a perfect, beautiful world, where snowflakes existed. Even for a moment.”
― Louise Penny, The Grey Wolf
Speakers: Our speakers were Robin Bacon-Shone and Suzan Turley, both AARP volunteers who gave a presentation about “Fraud Watch Basics.” The material they presented, and accompanying handouts are available to view on our website. They indicated that only 10% of fraud occurrences are reported, and that, while the 20-29 age group experiences more scams than older adults, older adults suffer more financial loss. They suggested that the most important things we can do is to avoid opening sketchy-looking emails, text messages and pop-ups, and to report scams.
