Speaker: Diane Sayrizi of the Ohara School of Ikebana (www.oharaoregon.org)
Diane spoke about Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. There are several different styles of Ikebana, and the Ohara school focuses on the use of natural materials, in season. She demonstrated a flower arrangement, using Joe Pye Weed, Hydrangea and Leather Fern, and pointed out how the arrangements are meant to express asymmetry and simplicity.

Donna Endicott brought Gerbera daisies to show, Diana Colvin brought Pineapple Lily, Autumn Joy Sedum, and Purple Leafed Ornamental Grapevine. Wendy Young brought some of the many pears she has harvested to share with club members.
